For business owners and property managers
Mobile patrol or an on-site guard: which does my property need?
Short answer
Choose mobile patrol when the property is closed and you need it checked several times a night at low cost. Choose an on-site guard when people are present, access must be controlled, or incidents are frequent. Patrol plans often start around $1,800 a month, while an on-site unarmed guard costs $18 to $35 per hour.
Patrol works for
- Closed offices, retail centers, yards and vacant buildings
- Lock-up and unlock checks
- Alarm response
- Properties with occasional problems
An on-site officer works for
- Lobbies, gates and loading docks that need someone present
- Sites with cash or high-value stock
- Nightly trespassing or encampment activity
- Construction sites full of materials
Combining them
A common setup is an officer on site during the riskiest hours and patrol visits the rest of the night. We will quote both and tell you which we would choose. See security guard services and pricing.
